About the Loyalists
Loyalist's were American colonists that remained loyal to the king (King George iii), and during the Revolution were often called tories, royalists, Kings man or just loyalists. British were not often forced to pay taxes like the colonists. Most loyalists were educated well because of King George iii who considered education the most important part of life. There were about 65,000-70,000 loyalists. The loyalists believed that the king was supposed to give all the orders and be technically in charge of everything.
Their beliefs
They also thought that if they obeyed King George the iii some kind of luck and not have to be involved in the war at all, which pretty much happened until the patriots started winning and they had to think what to do. Also probably the most reason was that they were simply scared to go against the mighty british army or they were interested in having a business in England, and the era around it. So if talking about what happened to the loyalists during the war there is a lot to say.
Life of Loyalists
During the war the life of loyalists later on into the war was in constant danger because they lived in areas controlled by the loyalists later on in war there were even more of these areas because the patriots started winning, many lost their homes and business. So they went back to Britain, others decided to help fight the patriots (some even left the loyalists and went to the colonists). And you might be wondering what happened to the loyalists after the war eel most of them went back to England because they lost their homes that were built over their life in america. The patriots also offered them to stay, some did but most left however.
